Students enrolled in or, for first year studies, considering enrolment in first year to fourth year degrees in the areas of Geoscience, Mining Engineering, Chemical Engineering (Minerals Processing), Environmental engineering or other such undergraduate programs directly relevant to the minerals industry are encouraged to apply.
A panel with representatives from the Playford Trust and AusIMM will make the final selection.
The panel’s decison will be based on the following:
- The applicant must reside in South Australia and satisfy one of the following options:
- Australian Citizen;
- Australian Permanent Resident; or
- Australian Permanent Resident with Humanitarian Visa.
- Students should not concurrently hold any other major scholarship, although this does not preclude submission of an application.
- Students must demonstrate an interest in, or have major studies or research project relevant to, the minerals industry.
- Students must apply for Student Membership of the AusIMM before a Scholarship can be awarded to that student.
