The Playford Trust, in collaboration with CEEC International Limited (CEEC), is offering one (1) Minerals Industry scholarship for 2025. The scholarship is intended to assist students who have the potential to become leaders in the minerals industry and who demonstrate wide-ranging abilities, good communication skills, organisation skills and who have the potential to become good managers. Applicants who are involved in student and community activities will demonstrate some or all these attributes.

Details:
Students enrolled in or, for first year studies, considering enrolment in, first year to fourth year studies in the areas of Sciences, Geology, Engineering, Metallurgy and Environmental engineering are encouraged to apply.
A panel with representatives from the Playford Trust and CEEC will make the final selection.
The panel’s decision will be based on the following:
- The applicant must reside in South Australia and satisfy one of the following options:
- Australian Citizen;
- Australian Permanent Resident; or
- Australian Permanent Resident with Humanitarian Visa.
- Students should not concurrently hold any other major scholarship, although this does not preclude submission of an application.
- Students showing potential for high achievement with an excellent academic record, and an interest in, and awareness of, the Australian Mining Industry are eligible to apply.
- Students should demonstrate an interest in, or have major studies or research project relevant to, the minerals industry.
- Students of good character with preference given to those displaying leadership potential.
- Students intending to spend a significant part of their career in South Australia or be likely to provide a benefit to the State.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate knowledge/understanding of ESG principles and the impacts of the resources sector – both positive and negative – on the environment and the host communities.
Applications should be supported by an academic referee providing comments about the student’s achievements, character, and leadership potential.
