Teaching students how to be ready for their first job can be a lot of work each year. That’s why we created Ready to Work – a best-practice structure that’s easy to follow and engaging for students to learn from.
Ready to Work is one of our three Education Programs at Study Work Grow, but it’s the only one that’s independently available for purchase as a stand-alone program. If you would like annual updates as well as many more resources like the Ponder Program (40 weeks of short career education lessons for Years 7-12) or the Career Clusters, it’s worth considering paying a little more and getting an Essentials Membership at school.
The 10 lessons in Ready to Work will make it easy for you to teach:

By the time you’ve finished these lessons, you will have students that are knowledgeable, confident, and ready to go and find their first casual or part-time job while still at school, or an apprenticeship/traineeship or full-time role upon leaving school.

- Full Teaching Guide covering the 10 lessons (7 core lessons, 3 optional lessons)
- Each lesson includes Learning Objectives, Materials, and Lesson Structure with timings

How to use your Educational Program
Download your Ready to Work Teaching Guide
Ready to Work comprises one amazing PDF document (the Teaching Guide) which contains download links to all of the additional materials you need, including Student Workbooks (digital and print-friendly), Student Certificate, and Lesson Materials. All you need is an internet connection to access all of the files which you can then save on your school computer to use in career education classes or your chosen setting.
Teaching the program
Ready to Work is easy to deliver, with full step-by-step instructions included in the Teaching Guide. Just open up the PDF and go through it page by page.
Who can deliver it?
Designed primarily for those with career education training or qualifications in career development/counselling, including Careers Advisors, Career Counsellors, or Guidance Officers. It can also be delivered by a Year Level Coordinator, Head Teacher, or Principal/Assistant Principal.
